Joe’s Waterhole
Joe’s Waterhole is an iconic Queensland hotel and a favorite with locals. Built in 1891 and originally named the Commercial Hotel, its first customers travelled via the Gympie to Brisbane railway line.
In 1924 a fire swept through town destroying the pub, which was rebuilt in 1926. Local legend, boxer, farmer, and practical joker Joe Whiting took over in 1962, swapping his Maroochydore sugarcane farm for the hotel and changing the name to Joe’s Waterhole.
Located on Eumundi’s main street, Joe’s is directly opposite the site of the famous Eumundi Markets.
The front bar has retained the traditional country pub heritage, so you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
Behind the front bar is a gaming lounge then another bar leading into the large bistro area which serves an extensive pub-style menu. There is also a popular pool room and beer garden out the back that regularly hosts live entertainment. Dogs are welcome in the Beer Garden.
