A Fair Day Out Eumundi

Discover Accessible Eumundi

Nestled in the lush Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Eumundi is a town celebrated for its natural beauty, friendly community, and bustling market scene. With a commitment to accessibility, Eumundi aims to ensure that visitors of all abilities can experience its charm to the fullest.

Accessible Eumundi Markets

Eumundi Markets is a collection of market areas covering a vast, mainly flat site in the centre of the small hinterland town. All market areas are open every Wednesday and Saturday from 7.30am until 2pm. The town can get busy during these times, so it is advisable to arrive early to avoid the main crowds.

The main market’s terraced layout is designed with accessibility in mind, offering gentle ramps from Lonergan Lane or opposite Gridley Street connecting all market levels. Pathways in the main markets are paved or asphalted.

Quieter Days at Eumundi Markets

If you prefer to experience the markets when town is a little quieter, Friday is a great day to visit as just one market area, Eumundi Square, is open from 8.30am until 1pm, offering over 90 stalls in one flat area off Napier Road.

There are food stalls here and the spacious central area is great for relaxing with a coffee or juice and soaking up the live music and Eumundi vibes. The stalls are easy to navigate on the concrete path and the central area is flat and fairly smooth, with small gravel in parts.

Non Market Days

Eumundi’s main street, Memorial Drive, is a flat, accessible road lined with unique shops and charming spaces that welcome visitors throughout the week, many offering ramps for access. The local museum is easily accessible via a ramp from the street, and offers fascinating displays and artefacts.

For a truly relaxing experience, consider visiting Eumundi on non-market days, when the streets are quieter, letting you fully enjoy browsing boutiques, sipping locally brewed coffee, and savoring delicious food at your own pace. And the pretty centrally located park offers plentiful shade under the trees.

Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are conveniently located on Napier Road near Eumundi Square, on Memorial Drive near the access ramp, and in Dick Caplick Park, which also offers accessible picnic tables and BBQ facilities and is a beautiful shaded place for children to play.

Closest Accessible Beaches to Eumundi

Noosa Main Beach and Coolum Beach

Both around twenty minutes drive from Eumundi, Noosa Main Beach and Coolum Beach are the closest accessible beaches to Eumundi and offer disabled beach access in the form of matting from the surf club to the water’s edge. Both also have a beach wheelchair for public use – the life guards will be happy to help with this – and disabled parking near the surf clubs and in town.

The ocean at Noosa tends to be calmer as the beach faces north and there is a long flat boardwalk right next to the beach here.

Both beaches offer stunning clifftop boardwalks that can be navigated by wheelchair but are undulating.
